A graduate with honours from the Federal University of Viçosa and a short specialisation from the University of the Arts London (UAL), Isadora Canela is an internationally renowned Brazilian filmmaker and visual artist. While still in graduation she won the Expocom Award at the largest national media congress in Brazil for her photographic essay "Vitrine" on violence against women. She has some of her works, such as the show "Until 18", shown in more than 100 countries by the streaming platform Red Bull TV. She has recently released the short film Linhas Tênues, about slave labour in the fashion industry, which is being shown in festivals around the world, such as LABFF and Demakijażt. Currently developing the feature film "In the Shadow of the Sun" about indigenous astronomical knowledge. Isadora's work is marked by the use of art as a tool for transformations of social, environmental and political structures. Since 2015 she has been developing a research on the consequences of mining in partnership with her compatriots Lis Haddad and Thais Paiva, now after years of collecting material, they seek to materialize this work in the form of an artistic-sensorial installation.
LIS HADDAD (Belo Horizonte - Brazil, 1981) is jeweler, designer and visual artist. Researches the power of jewelry in the fields of art and design, the body-object relationship, the dialogue between the artist / goldsmith and material and the meanings of wearable objects in contemporaneity. Since 2017 she has been sharing her time between Brazil and Asia and researching manual practices for making body ornaments from the East and decolonizing design. Among her works already developed stand out the art direction of the documentary Concrete Dreams: Skating Niemeyer, coordinating the Jewelry and Foundation Design department of the Arch Academy of Design, Jaipur-India (2017-2018); development and mentoring of the creative processes laboratory A Joia Expandida (2015-2018), individual exhibition The skin is the most profound (Museu da Moda - Belo Horizonte 2016), finalist Auditions Brasil 2010 Anglogold Ashanti.
Thais Paiva Machado
Currently based in Berlin, with a living sense in 3 continents, geographies, languages meanwhile sympathetic to social ambiguity overcoming cultural barriers. A photographer that also studied architecture aiming to bring artistic elements to daily lives, believing in art as a tool for transformation to those who must concentrate most of their time to make sure basics necessities are right on a date. Nevertheless, to the opposite side of the bridge, leading inclusion projects, as a digital entrepreneur with a proposal through video and photography a reflection to discuss similarities between which, so far were completely unlike life realities, striving to generate debates. Thus, growth respect and responsibility, with a hope to change injustice paralegal human realities.
